Vitamin B12

Introduction:
Vitamin B12 is a water soluble vitamin with a key role in the normal functioning of the brain and nervous system, and for the formation of blood. Bacteria, fungi and algae, and virtually all animal products are natural sources of B12, generally it is not present within plant foods.
Key Benefits:
Assists in maintaining a healthy nervous system and the production of DNA
Helps to regulate the formation of red blood cells in the body.
Assists with maintaining and increasing energy levels in the human body.
Assist in the processing of Folic Acid
Cons:
There isn't enough evidence to know what the effects might be of taking high doses of vitamin B12 supplements each day.
Suggested Serving Size:
The recommended daily allowance of B12 can easily be achieved through a balance and healthy diet, however the elderly(absorption decreases as we get older), vegans, and vegetarians (b12 is not found in plant foods) may need to look into supplementation.
Adults need approximately 0.0015 mg a day. (100g Steak (up to 0.002mg)
